Patient-reported outcomes (PROs) have been used in cancer clinical trials for more than 20 years. Along with clinical evidence, healthcare decision-makers use PROs to guide both individual patient choice and shared decision making. Unfortunately, the patient voice is often lost in clinical trial development because of inadequate or poor PRO data. Improvements to this process would not only benefit patients, but also add value to larger healthcare and policy decision-making.

Co-Founder and Board Chair, Bonnie Addario, explores this issue in an article she recently co-authored, Including the patient voice in the development and implementation of patient‐reported outcomes in cancer clinical trials.

At GO2 for Lung Cancer, we believe in empowering those living with lung cancer and encourage patients and caregivers to change the future of the disease by participating in the Lung Cancer Registry. The Registry recently launched new longitudinal surveys designed to capture important parts of your lung cancer journey, including how symptoms and side effects impact quality of life. Collecting your data over time will help researchers identify improvements in patient care and patient outcomes.

You have the power to fuel lifesaving research that could open the door to a cure. Consider joining the fight against lung cancer by signing up for the Lung Cancer Registry.
